Conference Themes

New Technologies
With the expanding fields of technology research and development, how can these advances be harnessed to benefit both the field of assistive technology and people with disabilities? An exhibition of evolving technologies will take place as part of the conference including all the leading AT manufacturers, vendors and service providers.

User Centred Approach
As the European Union advocates a philosophy of citizenship and governance, how can people with disabilities become central to the AT process?

Interdisciplinary approaches
New thinking advocated that existing structures can no longer continue to be organised into separate units based on traditional disciplines. How can interdisciplinary teams become a reality?

Guidelines and Standards
As the European Union develops and begins to implement guidelines and standards for AT devices, services, Web accessibility, universal design etc. Can the AT field demonstrate leadership and best practice?
